hello. let the fun begin

Hello. i am a new member, and my fiance and I are just about to begin our visa journey.

thankfully, i have found this site, and i am hoping i will get all the tools, advice, and help that we'll need.

I have many questions, as we are only about to begin step 1. but i have been reading for a few weeks now, and THINK i know most of what we need to accomplish our goal.

hopefully i will be accepted into this community, as many other forums seem to be filled with negative naysayers.

it is my thought, that this place, is populated by people with the same common goals.

a little background.. I am an american citizen. My fiancee is from the Dominican Republic.

i have traveled there for vacation 9 times in the last 4 years.

i met my fiancee just over a year ago, and we have been together for the last 4 of those trips. 1 week at a time together.

we talk daily on facebook. and at least once a week on skype.

i have spent time with her entire family, and they are also all friend on facebook as well.

it's a truly legitimate relationship. and we have decided that we are prepared to take the next step.

as i said, i have many questions... but i will save those for the appropriate areas of the forum.

Hi! Welcome! This site is very useful in many ways. It provides great information as well as the ability to ask questions from people who have gone thru and currently going thru the process you are about to begin. It also provides you with a sort of virtual support group because we are all going thru the same things so it can give you a sense that you are not alone.

My advice is to prepare yourselves for the wait. It is a long process but if you keep your eye on the end prize then you will do just fine!

Hello and welcome. VJ is a great community! Be aware that this is a long, painful and expensive process, but love conquers all, and we all wish you the best of luck.

Have you thought about what path you want to take? In terms of CR-1 (spouse) vs K1 (fiancee)?

Hola, Felicidades....I hope VJ can answer all your questions, this has beena great tool for me , i even made friends with somebody, we even talked on the phone about my process and he has been very helpful always , he also did a K1 . My interview is in 27 days ... so im very excited te deseo lo mejor y mucha suerte on your road of happines.
