Hi,

I just want to ask what kind of letters would we be receiving after we have sent our Form I-130.

I received one Notice of Action which states the priority date. After that, I have not received any letter. Does this mean that we have been approved and awaiting for our priority date to be current.

My husband is in the Philippines.

Thanks

That Notice of Action is only to let you know they received your petition, it also lets you know your PD. It won't be until 5 or so months for them to approve it.

PD: 30 DEC 2008

CC: 12 DEC 2010

Interview: 04 OCT 2011: Approved

POE: 15 OCT 2011 JFK

Is the 5 months for citizen or green cardholders?

Thanks

That is for both, but sometimes they take longer to approve the ones from the LPR because they will have to wait for the PD to be current anyways. BTW mine took 605 days...

Hi swingman,

Nice to see another August filer here!

Vermont Service Center is again taking almost a year to approve F2A petitions, so I am less optimistic about receiving approval in January, but I hope you have better luck with the California Service Center!

Hi and welcome to VJ!

It now looks like we might only get our approval from Vermont in the summer, but the California Service Center is still processing F2A cases in five months, so you should indeed have your approval soon. Let us know when you do, it gives the rest of us hope!

If your husband becomes a citizen before you receive your NOA2, you can contact VSC and upgrade the petition. The processing time for US citizens is currently five months, so upgrading would make it faster.
