According to the Official Instruction sheet from the U.S. Embassy in Manila (here)- http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Revised%20K1%20Instruction%20Packet%20_3__rtf2_001.pdf ...........There is no mention of the DS-230 form, but it IS listed on the U.S. Embassy's main page for Visa documentation (here)-http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Revised%20K1%20Instruction%20Packet%20_3__rtf2_001.pdf It is confusing as to if it's required. I already sent ALL the documents my fiance needs--according to the 1st mentioned instructing sheet, but did not send a DS-230 form. Any help would appreciated

Unless something has changed and the USEM did not update their requirements, DS-230 is not required for K Visa apps in Manila. Forms required are the ones listed on the link you posted.

We did not complete form DS-230 for our Visa's in Manila.

I would suggest posting any questions you may have about the process in Manila in the Philippine Forum.

The US Consulate in Vancouver, Canada, in April 2009, made me fill out Part 1 of the DS-230, all of the DS-156, and a DS-156K, for my K-1 visa application.

Part 1 of the DS-230 is just the personal information section. I don't recall if the DS-156's personal information section duplicates it [it may, at least partially], but come to think of it, I'm pretty sure the DS-160 (which I didn't have to do) does duplicate the DS-230 Part 1.

So if you did a DS-160, they probably won't make you do a DS-230 Part 1. They need to get your personal info down somewhere, but I'm pretty sure that at least some consulates are using the DS-160 for the personal info for K-1 applicants. It has the advantage of being an electronic online form, so they don't have to reenter everything themselves.

The DS-230 nor DS-160 are required for K visa's in manila. Here is an additional thread addressing the same topic.

My link

Requirements are different for different countries. Manila is funny though...while K1 is a "Non-immigrant Visa" and only such forms are required...some guidelines are for immigrant visa. It's confusing...even the immigrant visa branch of the USEM are responsible for processing the non-immigrant visa application (that's what I was told when I called the embassy)
