The Do's and Don'ts of the Interview. I have no Idea what I'm talking about. ! :help:

Do make sure your clothes match in colors and be sure they are plain and not to excessive to draw the interviewer off of you and on to your attire.

Wear Casual, dress comfortably. Take a light jacket or sweater along with an umbrella in case of rain/cold. If your hair is a wreck that will draw attention off your eye-contact.

Jeans are fine and a not over-bright casual top with matching shoes.

The DON'T : Do not wear clothes that draw attention off the interviewer. (Do not wear a low blouse) Do not wear excessive make-up or overpowering fragrance which is a No No.

Just be Comfortable. I would guess its enough stress already.

Avoid the temptation to buy bolot from a street vender before the interview, save that for later. LOL

Told you I have no idea what to say.

I think it's great your preparing for your interview. Good Luck Tim/Mav

Oh, so you mean Balot :D I figured it was that but just wanna clarify as it maybe some new fashion trend I may not know..LMAO. Not decided yet on what to wear, but for sure something like casual on top paired with my white jeans. I will have to ask my fiance of what he think of the dress code I am planning. Sure thing also, I wont wear high heeled shoes :)

Posted

I wore dark colored jeans paired white top and blazer on it, and a dirty color white close high heeled shoes then that's it. I saw others wearing dresses mostly color black hehe opposite to what others say; wear light color. Anyway the important matter their is your interview and get approved Good luck

I would say you treat it the way you would with any formal job interview you're going to. After all, you wouldn't want the consul to think that you're taking them lightly.

Look professional, be professional. yes.gif Good Luck!

In China one of the toughest places to pass an interview. We have been told to dress as if was an job interview. It is one of the most important 5 minutes of your life.

hi VJ's,

Just want to clarify what is the dress code for female at US Embassy Manila for the upcoming interview. Is it ok to wear Jeans :D - thanks!

A friend of mine summarized it cleverly by saying: wear what you'll wear for a casual dinner where you'll be meeting your fiancee's parents for the first time. Dress to impress, but not digress....

Totally agree. If one wants to make an impression, do it in a way that will work on your favor. Like i said, "look professional, be professional".
