Preparing to Mail My Petition

I've read many things here and on other sites. I have lots of evidence of our ongoing relationship such as itineraries, receipts, email threads, photos, etc. My question is, how much really should I mail with the petition? At the very least I will mail my itinerary, hotel bill, and photos of my proposal and engagement ring receipt. I know most evidence will be needed for the interview. Any advice?

Also, what should the order of my package be? Cover letter - I129F - G325s

Thanks in advance everyone!

Evidence of meeting face to face is needed for the I-129F. The USCIS does not need evidence of relationship. At the very least you need to submit your passport stamps showing entry into the country. This is further supported by other evidence such as itinerary, boarding passes, receipts and photos.

Phone records, emails, etc.. are needed for the interview.

YMMV

Please go to the guides on this site and follow the K1 fiance guide as to what to send. We followed the guide and had no problems what so ever. We did use a cover letter and listed everything that we were sending. The order of what was on the cover letter is the order we sent the package in. We sent a few boarding passes, 4 pictures, a few pages of yahoo chats, we used gmail for chatting on cam and voice, they have a great way to print records of those chats so we sent a few pages of that and a few phone bills.

I will stress...make copies of everything! Make a duplicate copy of the package you are sending for yourself.

Good luck :-)

I agree.. Keep it simple "Just need proof you met in last 2 years"...

I see lots of people frontloading the petition with "Extra" paperwork. Remember the reviewer of the I129F or I130 is just there to

validate whether or not the paperwork proves you meet the "Minimum" requirements. Anything "Extra" just adds (in my opinion) to the

review process... Think about it. If you are a government employee... and if you have a quota to meet (I assume)... You will grab the

well organized and thin packet.

My two centavos, But, worked in our favor.

Front-loading can be crucial, depending upon the country where the U.S. consulate is located.

One doesn't know how well-organized anything is before grabbing it and starting to deal with it. The petition packages of all sizes need to be reviewed, eventually.

It may not be so crucial for the Philippines, but the success or failure of a visa interview elsewhere can greatly depend upon what's been included in the petition package. The consulates are not supposed to refuse visas on the basis of evidence that USCIS has seen, so confronting "red flags" (whether your own or those that the consulate is known to focus on) can be a smart thing to do up front.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think based on what I read here I'll supply enough evidence that we've met and a little of an ongoing relationship. I visit my fiancee almost every month since October of last year and I think evidence of that is just too much for the petition. Wil have all that for her interview though.
