Hello people!

My sister is my cosponsor and she wants to include in the I-864 the income of her husband as well, completing the I-864A. My question is, when using a Household member for I-864, which option is placed in the first part of the I-864: only sponsor or first of two joint sponsors?

Thank you for your help. :star:

For the K1 visa typically the I-134 is used and it does not allow for combining incomes. The sponsor must qualify on their income and/or assets alone.

the i864 is for when you're married and adjust status, if the consulate allows it, your sister has to file another i134. I don't think she can combine incomes.

Hi. Thanks for your replies

I already sent my I-134 and my sister's I-134. But the Consulate requires that cosponsor complete the I-864. According to them, I, the petitioner, complete the I-134 and I-864 is for cosponsor. In a previous post I talked about the I-864 and finally understood that we must deliver what the Consulate asks and each Consulate has its own requirements. In my case, they use the I-864 to K-1. I can't fight against them, just deliver what they require.

My question remains if in 1-864 part one is placed only one sponsor or first of two sponsor, when the sponsor use a household member. The I-864 allows to use a Household member and combine incomes(USEM told me that my sister's income is sufficient but if she want she can add a household member, they saw the two incomes because they filled taxes jointly).

Thanks.
