I try to help where I can.

A lot of you are waiting for interviews it looks like. I have another friend, actually it's my wife's friend that got case complete on 9/22 and they still have no received word on their interview date yet.

There is not set time when they post up those schedules. I have yet to see 3 posted at the same time. It might not be until the end of October until they post December. This is me speculating though... as always good luck my friend!

Had the interview...

Was relaxed and smooth... But, after all the waiting I went to a window,, they asked me for all the documents... Called me back at the window, told me I had a missing document ... The Proof of Citizenship of my Co-Sponsor. Who would of thought?!

Anyway... Even though I missed that document, they went ahead and send me to the Consul anyway... Had my interview, went well... He mentioned again that I had a document missing and gave me a blue form, allowing me to walk-in without appointment... Next Tuesday he said...

They did all the paperwork, I saw him write positive comments, and than he said 'That's all I can do for today, after you get us the document ''you should be fine''... He put my file up, and kept my passport... Whyyy???

So please tell me what to do now???

What to think???

It's good news he kept your passport. You should have no worries. It's a simple thing they are asking for, provide that documents and I am sure you will have your visa soon.

Didn't you submit all of this at NVC already?

The proof of citizenship/ permanent residency of the co-sponsor is a must. NVC is supposed to caught this during the process of AOS but they missed it.

Ask your co-sponsor to email you a copy of Date of birth (if born in US) or Naturalization Certificate (if naturalized) or Passport and take it to the Consulate next Tuesday and get your visa and passport. Congratulations, you are almost done.

Well, I had to give them the Affidavits of Supports again (husband and co-sponsor), turn in the medical results and the police certificates... Other than that they didnt have me give them anything... Unfortunately, I guess NVC must have missed i didnt send them in the Proof of Citizenship, so now i was completely swept off my feet when they asked for it...

They kept my passport? But why?

Does it mean it will all be ready for me when I get back in next week or what?

And they knew document was missing before I saw the consul.. Why did they let me have the interview anyways?

They kept the passport because your case is good as done and they will complete the formalities next Tuesday and will send out the Visa and the passport to you (we can collect the visa and passport at an agency of the consulate called VFS but I don't know if you have something like that). Don't worry just go again on Tuesday and you should be fine.

In our embassy you get a 'ticket' with wich you can go in again and pick it up and a window... But, if I have that document by tomorrow I will call them and maybe be able to get in sooner... Will also ask why they kept my passport and what to expect when I come back in again...

That is a good plan. Don't really get worried about consulate keeping your passport - you will get it back along with your visa.

Well its just 'odd'... They knew I had a missing document, they did the interview anyway, the Consul said 'you should be fine after submitting the document', and kept my passport... I just hope its positive!

Common practice, an IV unit will go ahead with a scheduled interview but delay issuing a visa until they have the documents they need.

I second this. If it's something as minor as showing proof of your co-sponsors citizenship they should go ahead with the interview as I am pretty sure they have ran internally his information and know he/she is a USC. They just want proof for you so they can complete the file paperwork.

I would not be worried if I were you. Just submit the doc. next Tuesday and hope for a quick turnaround.

They might ask you a few questions if the original interview was no through enough and the immigration officer made a notes to ask questions of you when you submit the doucment.

I really doubt it though....
