It can happen though. There was this elderly couple who were raided twice last year, all because of a database error.

For the paranoid among us, you can install steel shutters on the inside of your windows and doors I guess.

Yeah if they just break in, I don't see how I could respond other than do my best to recall everything in court later.

You can always shore up your doors and windows a little better, add sensors/warning devices, surveillance systems, etc., around your place.

That's not always your option. The man in Indiana who was told he didn't have the right to defend himself against illegal entry by the police didn't ask the police to come to his place, some neighbors did.

Plus, as Sousuke's pointed out, there have been several instances of police raiding the wrong house.

Suicide by cop on video would be interesting.

I think at least a few of you would instead end up on the kind of video we'd see on COPS or something to that tune, but that's just a joke more than anything.
