It doesn't matter what printer you use. Has nothing to do with the form or petition.

I heard inkjets don't have very good resolution so the barcode doesn't scan this well, anyone else that use a canon inkjet or any inkjets?

I use my cheapo HP inkjet to print shipping labels. They scan just fine. I have printed all our immigration forms (except AOS) and passport applications on an inkjet, no problem. When we did out AOS, I used an old Laserjet II and they even accepted that no problem.

Obviously ink jet is sufficient but make sure you have the settings right. Draft or fast print mode may not be appropriate but normal should be fine. If your really buggy use highest quality for the application form. 2.5 years ago I was doing i130 and I knew I was going to have a hellacious support document package to print so I bought a refurb brother laser printer with duplex for $120. I printed chat logs by the hundreds and all the forms and samples a boy could ever want. I actually figured I would use it and abuse it and toss it of needed. Well not only did it work great o mean 32 pages a minute high quality laser printer comes in handy for a sub contractor inspection side job I have. I finally had to change the toner recently when I knew I would be doing removal. I even bought the toner on amazon for about a quarter of the price. It was the best investment I made that Is still rockin the 20# white paper 250 page feeder

I'm done with inkjet printers. They clog, they're slow, the ink is very expensive and smears if it gets wet. The only reason I can think of to use one is that they do print color photos very nicely. My advice: do yourself a favor and buy a laser.
