Well, it's been a long road, beginning back in August of 2010, but my fiancee finally got her visa & brown envelope today. Just wanted to say thanks for all the good info, encouragement, and sharing of ideas and humor along the way that all of you here at VJ have made available for us. Our journey was longer than some due to my deployment, but 17 months after starting, we should finally be together in Alaska.

Good luck to all of you who are still waiting, all I can say is... fill out your forms correctly, make sure your I-134 has an original signature (not printed & scanned, we tried, but they looked for indention on the paper of an original signature), and above all, don't fret. It is a SLOW process, to be sure, but just be patient. After all, you probably went many years not even knowing your spouse-to-be, so what's a few more months, right? LOL, who am I kidding, it sucks, doing it the legal, slow way. But in the end, it WILL be worth it, I can assure you.

I'm the wife of an American Soldier;

I'm the hope that lives within him after storm clouded days.

The freedom from war that gives wings to his heart,

May they reach across the miles and bind our hearts together

against all that we must face in this world.

You think she will notice the difference? +35°C in PI to -40°C in AK?? :D :D I am NOT buying her an electric blanket, she will just have to cuddle me for warmth!!

DEERS will come later, after we get married, right? Don't want to rush it, I need to make sure she is a good cook first, huh? :o
