Fiance has no vaccination records

My fiance went to what she called a "mid wife" where she said her vaccination records would be, but they told her that her records were lost. I suppose this means she has to get every vaccination on the list? I'm wondering if it will be ok to forgo the vaccinations until she is here married and under my medical insurance? I know it'll have to get done B4 AOS.

thanks!

What I did was get a blood titre test to test whether the vaccines are still in my system. From there, I got the vaccines I needed that I was missing. My family doctor did mine for free of all the ones that I needed to get done.

If not, I heard during the medical exam they'll give you the shots at an expensive price.

thats what i am thinking, it will cost an outragoues amount of money to get the vaccinations their rather than at my own doctor which is cover under my insurance that she will be on. I wonder if choosing that option will delay things?

Jimbo - When your fiancee does her medical examination at SLMEC, the appropriate vaccines can and have been given at that time. Furthermore, getting these vaccines at SLMEC is covered in the cost of the medical examination fee. I wrote "have been given" because this information is not a guess nor an opinion--this (SLMEC vaccinations, included in medical fee) is documented in various posts on VJ by members who have gone this route in Manila or whose fiancees have firsthand knowlege. (I had recently searched for this info and found those posts because I had the same question as you.)

hey! just did my medical last monday... there will be no charge for the vaccine (that was my concern too :) ), the doctor will tell your fiancee which vaccines she needs to get ( i got 3 :crying:), which will given on the 2nd day which means she passed medical exam coz she wont get to 2nd day of medical if they found any problem with the result of her xray, urine & blood. oh by the way, tell your fiancee not to go there on a MONDAY, line is so long & also register online, it will make it faster.

Jimbo...

There's no need to wait until your sweetheart gets to the States to get vaccinated. She will have her medical exam at St. Lukes (SLMEC), She does not need to have her vaccination record when she goes to St. Lukes. St. Lukes will give her the age-appropriate vaccinations. Typically, people get three vaccinations. The vaccinations are included in the price of the medical exam. The medical exam costs about $213.

Then, after you guys get married, you will adjust her status (AOS). One part of the AOS paperwork involves having a civil surgeon transcribe your fiancée's DS-3025 vaccination record from St. Lukes onto another form (I-693?). All the civil surgeon has to do is to transcribe the information, sign the form, seal it in an envelope, and give it back to you so that you can include it in your AOS application.

Not all civil surgeons know the drill. Some of them will tell you that your fiancée will need another physical exam. Some will tell you that she will need more vaccinations. Some will tell you she needs both. Don't pay any attention to this nonsense. Keep looking for a civil surgeon who understands that you only need a simple transcription, We paid about $35 for the transcription. We spent about 15 minutes in the civil surgeon's office.

Best wishes for a smooth and speedy visa journey. :star:
