Hi all,

I am a British Citizen marrying an American Citizen in two weeks time. We both graduated from our undergrad college last May. My fiancee is a nurse who has been working at a hospital since August 2010.

I downloaded documentation required from the University of Indiana website. Great resource!! (http://ois.indiana.edu/scholars/pr/general_info/pr_marriage_app_docs.php)

I have a few questions regarding my application for a Green Card.

1. Poverty Guideline form

My fiancee worked in 2010 as a nurse. She was claimed as a dependent in 2010 by her parents. In 2009 and 2008, we were both college students and as such were not earning a significant amount of money. I see that they want the Federal tax form for the most recent year, but only a listing of earned income for the 2 years prior to that. Do you think this will be a problem? She did not get income that meets the poverty line for the 2009 and 2008 years (and was claimed as a dependent for those years as well).

2. Biographic information

Do we both need to file separate forms G-325A?

Thanks for your help!!

Peter

1. Not a problem. Only last year's tax return is strictly required and they will go by current income to determine if she meets the threshold.

2. Yes, you will need 1 from USC and 2 G-325As from you (yes in duplicate). Please read the guides up top for more detailed information. Good luck and happy wedding!

Edit: I quickly perused your link above and noticed the fees are incorrect there. It is now $1070 for I-485 and $455 for I-130.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes I figured this would be a bit out of date- but it has been very useful link to resources.

OK- now on to your links for resources. Maybe I am blind, but I am not seeing the guide for Green Card under the guide link..... I need your guidance in finding the guides (bad joke, bad joke... but o well)

Oh, yes, you are right. I must have been looking at the old price ($355) when I typed the new one, I got half and half!
