Hmm nope, no potatoes in it.

Kenyan chicken is onions, garlic, crushed tomatoes, coconut milk, and crushed red paper flakes, all stewed together and then you add the chicken pieces. I usually add adobo to it too. Rice on the side. *salivating* It's one of our favorite meals. And I have to say, I am a pretty good cook. :innocent: B)

 sounds delicious! Ana and i will be sure to stop by the next time we are in your neck of the woods.

Ana has being dong something similar. Tho with some chili "guarijo" or something like that. Delicious. :D

that too has no Idaho potatoes. :P

Yeah, you can, people put anything on it. Everyone seems to have their own recipe. Basically some binders and spices mixed with the lumpfin crabmeat and formed into cakes or balls and then sauteed, broiled or baked. What makes it good is the crabmeat, blue crabs from the Chesapeake Bay. Y'all got me off topic, it's too close to dinner and that earlier chicken dish sounded like a masterpiece....

Maybe if the high school drop-outs and career welfare claimants (and don't tell me that neither exist) of Idaho didn't think it was beneath them to pick potatoes alongside "Hispanic migrant labour" there wouldn't be so much of a recruitment problem for these farmers.

But the US entitlement mentality is alive and kicking...

Make sure you're wearing clean knickers. You never know when you'll be run over by a bus.

Ok, serious question.

How much would a potato picking job in rural Idaho have to pay for you to move out there and work at it for 1 year?

2x your current annual earnings?

3x your current annual earnings?

4x your current annual earnings?

5x your current annual earnings?

6x your current annual earnings?

10x your current annual earnings?

20x your current annual earnings?

100x your current annual earnings?

1000x your current annual earnings?

2x my current earnings? You got it!

I'd pick potatoes in Idaho even for 1.5x my current annual earnings, but

I seriously doubt anyone would pay me that much. :P

Almost every analysis I've ever read examining the economic "need" for immigrant labor agrees that the one industry that would probably collapse without it is agriculture

it should be noted that there is farm machinery to collect the potatoes..........

In your judgement, do you believe the farmers in the article are lying?

No, the machinery "picks" or digs up about 2/3 the crop.. the others come behind with hoes to uncover the rest from the dirt and toss them into back of holding cage on the tractor. But then my father didnt need to hire out to migrant workers.. he had 6 kids :P small farm... only sold excess hay and beef. If they really wanted legal migrant workers, they can find them... they're just b1tchin cause now they would have to pay over minimum wage to get them.

edited to add: and the price of crops wont substantially increase... the Govment already subsidizes much in $$ to the farmer and also to what he can and cannot grow and where.
