So the Boehner plan is dead. The GOP won't consider the Reid plan so that's dead.

There is no plan.

House Republicans do not have enough support to pass their debt-ceiling increase plan on their own, a top conservative said Tuesday.

...

“There are not 218 Republicans in support of this plan,” Rep. Jim Jordan, an Ohio Republican who heads the powerful conservative caucus in the House, told reporters Tuesday morning.

That means Speaker John A. Boehner will have to rely on Democrats ... Minority Whip Steny H. Hoyer said “very few” Democrats will vote for the Boehner plan, though he acknowledged there could be some.

Wow.

The GOP have finally fractured. I kinda saw this coming....

Maybe moderate republicans will jump off the sinking boat and join Obama and the Dems.

For the good of the country, if this issue really is that huge, they may well be politically intelligent in doing so.

LOL. They are not revolting or even fracturing. They said long ago and most got elected by saying they would not vote for an increase UNLESS under certain conditions. Boehner I remembered laughed back then. These Congresspersons do not want to now have to go back and tell the people that voted them in or are having to run again that they shafted them. Political suicide. Usually when this has happened in the past they get thrown bones to soothe the storm but in this case what bones are they going to get?

The Socialists are banding together and any that jump and goes to the other side to vote will be punished severely. What are they to do?

Current polls say thats 29% or so...

Are those polls done only in Tea Party districts? It doesn't matter politically to Rand Paul of Kentucky how anyone in San Francisco feels about him, because those people aren't voting for or against him. He cares only about what the people in his own district feel.

Exactly. If the polls are done mostly in Socialist areas then there is going to be a huge skew in poll numbers. Now I am in Ron Pauls district and I know how he is voting and confident he will vote as he always does. That is why we vote him back comfortably everytime. If he starts voting against my wishes then I and many will vote him out easily.

I think we deserve a downgrade for our being so fiscally reckless. We need to now go and re earn our stellar rating back by being fiscally responsible.

Is there any evidence?
