So, I exceed the financial requirements by almost double to sponsor my fiance. I have the last 4 years of tax transcripts, 3 months worth of paystubs and a letter from my employer. How important is the letter from the bank? The reason I am asking this is because my bank sent me the letter, which never got here, they finally faxed it today - and after looking at it my address is wrong!!! UGH. It's only the apartment number instead of 132 it shows 13. Big deal? My guess is yes. Also, they showed my checking and savings account. My checking account is fine, however, I keep a very limited amount of money in my savings account b/c this bank charges me fees to use it if it's in savings. So, my current balance shows about $200 where the average for this account is $14.00 Lol Seriously, I hate being charged to use the money - so it all stays in my checking!!! Will such a low balance and/or average in savings look bad??

Do I need this letter? If so, should I pay an additional $10 to have the address fixed?

Thanks!

DO NOT SEND THE LETTER FROM THE BANK. They do not need it. They would need it ONLY if your income is insufficient and you are claiming savings as assets. I went through the process in Russia. Here is my financial side: $195K Income:

1) I134. My primary income is the ONLY thing I claimed as this is more than enough for support. Do not claim anything else as this complicates things and you need additional documents. For example, I made another $25K from consulting but never mentioned it as this is not necessary and needs prove that I can provide but more paper...

2) My MOST RECENT paystub. They do not need more as it states your YTD earnings anyway.

3) 2010 tax return

4) Letter from employment stating my current income and dates of employment and my employment prospects with the company.

This is it. Do not make it more complicated than it should be.

San diego - well, I make no where close to the amount you do!! Lol Do you still think it's safe not to include the bank letter? I currently make $37k (teacher's salary, geesh!). Thanks for your fast reply - I had just seen many post about including the bank letter, so I wasn't sure...

Absolutely safe! As long as you do not need to claim any other income THIS IS MORE THAN SUFFICIENT! Your income that you stated is more than sufficient. Just claim the income in the appropriate line, sign and date. and add documents that I mentioned. This package will be solid proof and will not get CO upset about going through unnecessary paperload.. LOL

Do not send bank. I have the same thing - live from paycheck to paycheck (believe it or not). They want it only if your income was insufficient. Your income is sufficient. Just leave bank account and other stuff blank and you will be fine. As long as you make more than required amount you do not need to claim any other assets. This is like disclosing information that is not necessary and may be potentially hurting you.

cmoore25 - No need to send the bank letter; your income is more than sufficient based on the poverty guidelines.

Just ensure you have your pay stubs or letter from the school you teach at/employer to confirm your salary
