When I was going through the process to get my husband here, USCIS sent our paperwork to be "filed away as a finished case" instead of forwarding it to the NVC.

The only way I found out what had happened, or got it taken care of was by contacting my legislators. I used their websites and contacted both my representatives. One of their assistants contacted the USCIS and NVC, found out where our case was, and got it rolling again.

It's surprising that they are that willing to help, but they are, they want your vote ;)

Good luck!

I am going through the same thing. They sent mine back in June and i recently called and they said should give them another 30 days to finish. They originally told me it would take 120 days and now they are saying they need 30 more days so you can expect a 5 to 6 month delay cos it will take about 2 weeks before they even send the petition back. My wait should be over this month. Pray for me as I will for you.
