We are in the same boat. I emailed NVC a scanned copy of NOA2 last Monday and today the NVC email me back telling me that they don't have any record of my petition sent from USCIS so that they are going to contact USCIS in behalf of me. I also called USCIS and they said I have to wait 90 days to contact them. It is very confusing. The NOA2 said I can contact in two weeks time but the USCIS don't want to talk to me about the issue. I hope things will settle very soon. The NVC service agent told me there is a back up due to the July 4th holiday so that it may take another 5 business days to finalize uploading the files in to their system.

God luck for all of us waiting on NVC

So they just contact you with your case number?

They send you next package by mail (the beneficiary). Sometimes it is a good idea to wait for one month and if you have not received anything contact the embassy (e-mail them). NVC will not contact you at all.

On K1 there is no NVC letter. Next your fiancee will be contacted by the embassy.

I believe there is a letter that comes from the NVC to notify the petitioner that they forward the petition to the embassy. Since the forwarding situation might take a while, it is advisable to contact the NVC to get the case # so that it will help to be ahead of the game.

Good luck

There is no letter on K1. On K1 petitioner gets the following:

NOA1

NOA2

This is it.

Next Beneficiary gets the package from the embassy about 1 month after NOA2. So, do not expect any correspondence from NVC if you are filing for K1. In K1 process NVC is just a pass-through organization. Embassy is the one that next handles everything as opposed to CR1.

If yours has gotten lost, many of us are screwed! The NVC holdup is happening to many CSC March filers.

I've been calling NVC everyday for our case number and also emailed nvcresearch@state.gov with a copy of my NOA2. They contacted USCIS on my behalf and emailed me back 2 days ago saying that it's currently 'en route' from CSC. Hopefully it's not much longer now...we're so anxious to get the medical scheduled! Just keep calling NVC. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. However there will be some means that the petitioner knows about the NVC case #. For the matter of fact, we, the petitioner, were not suppose to call the NVC to get the case #. As NOA2 on paragraph 3 read “You will receive notifications by mail when NVC has sent the petition to the US Embassy or Consulate”. This means that there is a correspondence letter coming from NVC. Please refer the NOA 2. Meanwhile we don’t have to wait for the letter to come to us. As soon as we got the NVC case #, beneficiaries can start their process at the consulate.

Good Luck

Petitioner may find out their NVC number by calling NVC. This is useless though as it never comes up.. Everything can be determined even at the embassy stage using WAC number on I129F petition. Trust me, I went through the entire process this year...

NVC number as well as correspondence with NVC is useless. The send it to embassy almost immediately and embassy conducts background check before sending next package.

Thanks for the information. I just found an email that my petition is on the way to NVC, but it is been on the way for the last 3 weeks. The NVC is also excusing their lagging job on the July 4th holiday.

Thanks and good luck

The chances are that your petition is already at the embassy.. All is lagging is INFORMATION updates, not NVC work itself. Once you receive NOA1 realistically NVC will receive it within a week and will turn it around within 2 days. Basically, realistically speaking, within 2 weeks your documents ARE already at the embassy. What happens than is that embassy conducts background check before contacting beneficiary.

This is not accurate. When contacting the NVC, they will inform you that the petition can take up to 15 working days from the date of the NOA2. In addition, going through this process myself at the moment and having filed in February at the CSC, it took from the 27th May to the 13th June for NVC to receive my petition before then sending it onto the embassy. Therefore, the documents are not always with the embassy within 2 weeks from the date of NOA2. From various postings on this topic, there does appear to be a hold up of documents going from the CSC to the NVC.

Also (and I can only talk about the UK here), the NVC case number is necessary for booking medicals, etc., and the USCIS number is not accepted.

OP - you may want to check with your country's embassy as to which number they will be expecting you to use when contacting them re: medical and interview - the NVC number (which I think is the more normal one) or the USCIS number. I know it can be a trying time, but it does sound like your case is on its way.
