Well.... We were hoping to be done with AOS by now but we're not. We would like to go away for a 3-day weekend for my birthday in August but we've heard nothing about an interview as of yet. From what I've seen, most interviews have been scheduled with a little more than a month's notice. Now that it's the 14th of July, can we safely assume that Friday, 8/12 has been taken off the table as a possible interview date? (Last thing I want to do on my birthday is spend it at USCIS!)

Has anyone been given less than a month's notice? We're just trying to make plans for that weekend before it's too late...

We received notice of our interview one day shy of a month. Not really that much less than a month, but just thought I would answer your inquiry. It is hard waiting around with your life on hold because USCIS might finally pick a date after you already have plans. I was worried they would schedule our interview on the same day as my daughter's graduation, but luckily, they did it one day before (whew, cut it close). I do not know if you are in the 'safe range' for going on your trip, but I wish you luck and hope it all works out for you. My husband and I both have birthdays in Aug, 2 days apart on the 6th and 8th. Happy Early Birthday! Best wishes!

Thanks.. I would like to be able to snag 21-day advance purchase fares and we have a little over a week to do so. If we know something before then, there's no danger in buying on the wrong dates. I just don't want to buy on the 22nd of July only to find out USCIS will only give us 3 weeks (or less) of notice. Just trying to get a feel if they have done that or do that often. No matter what, until there is a date (or a GC through a transfer to CSC that we never heard about), any plans are a calculated risk, at best.
