like you can't go by the website right now for approvals. I keep checking it every day but it looks like some people aren't even getting emails...just NOA2's in the mail. I'd sure like to know what the proper procedure is. Some are getting emails, some aren't, some are just getting NOA2's...I guess it just gives me hope even if I don't get an email that it could be in my mailbox at any time.

I hope that you will receive the good news soon. And you are right, the approvals are just pouring in and they are coming in from all direction without any rhyme or reason making things so unpredictable... Congratulations to all the lucky couples...and best of luck to you guys... :luv:

Thanks Dorothy. Although, I'm not expecting an NOA2 right away, but it would be nice. I know there are tons of people ahead of me. If I do get one, I'd feel fortunate. I just want to have Susie with me before Christmas. I think if I got an NOA2 before mid-October, that could be possible.

I certainly hope the approvals keep pouring in.

Have you checked on the processing time average for the embassy in the Philippines. You need to be prepared for those delays after the NOA2. The NVC will probably begin to get caught up from the delay caused by IMBRA, so read up on the next process and get ready. Find out if there is FedEx or something similar where your fiancee lives. The mailing of the final documents can slow it down too, although the processing time of the embassy in her country will probably be the next bottleneck.

Based upon what is going on right now, I think you can expect an approval in October but not likely sooner. I don't want to sound like a wet blanket, but trying to be realistic is better for your sanity. Try doing things at home that will need or should be done before she arrives. I painted most of the inside of my home leaving just a few rooms for her to help with the coloring, etc. She really feels that this is her home now.

Also, look in your area for stores that may carry goods from her homeland. It is just a way for her to feel more at ease, although she will need to experience the American way. The idea is to make her feel comfortable and happy. Remember, she is leaving her country, family and friends for a totally new way of life. If you do your homework now, the time together will be that much better.

One more thing, give her a couple of weeks to adjust to the time zone. Her body needs time to adapt and she likely won't feel 100% for about six months. But, she'll be 80 to 90% in a few weeks. Then you will see her become the woman you fell in love with.

Good luck and be patient.

Thanks...she's not in the PI. She's in S. Korea and will be going to her interview there. Interview time is typically 6-8 weeks after they receive the petition.

Yeah, I've been getting things ready for her...hell, I even went out and bought a new car. I kept her informed in the process by sending her pictures beforehand and asked her what she might like. The only thing I'm going to wait for is buying bedroom furniture...I've decided to wait so we can pick it out together. I also know where all of her homeland goods are carried...there are plenty of places around here. I'm not impatient, I am just excited for her to be here.

I agree that October is a reasonable guess for the NOA2. But if you check the Immigration timelines for Phillipines interviews, I think you'll see that they are often 4-5 months after the NOA2. I hope you're right about when she comes to you. But I think Easter is a safer guess than Christmas. Good luck.

Tom

Thank for for updating your timeline. (My Assistant, then edit/add my timeline.)

Thanks...see above. She'll be getting her interview in S. Korea. From the timelines and from people I know, it typically takes 6-8 weeks for the interview date after the NOA2.
