I am a new member in here but I often read some posts here and now I am bit confused about sending or preparing DS 230 for K1? Is it needed to prepare though cause what I read from the packet 3, DS 230 isn't there. And is it okay if I won't wait for the packet 3 before scheduling my interview? Thanks. Any insights will be greatly appreciated..

It looks like your embassy schedules the interview; according to the embassy info in the Philippines portal.

Thanks for the reply. As far as I know, the beneficiary should call the Embassy for interview appointment. But other VJ members said that they haven't wait for their packet instead they just downloaded it and from there they call our embassy for the schedule of interview. What is important is that you should have the MNL case number. Still confused, sorry..

Maybe it's different where you are at, but the DS-230 was required for K1 visa in the Netherlands.

From packet 3: Complete and return immediately by regular mail, to this office the following forms: 2x DS 156; DS 156K (FIANCÉ(E) VISA APPLICATION, DO NOT SIGN), and DS230 PART I, with a photocopy of passport biographic data page. If your children will apply with you, two copies of form DS156 for each child must be completed in full. This office cannot process your case until these forms have been received.

AOS TIMELINE:

02/08/2012 AOS Application Sent.

02/14/2012 NOA Hard Copy Received for EAD and AOS in mail 2/14/2012.

03/01/2012 Biometrics letter received. Bio scheduled at 3pm on 03/29.

03/29/2012 Successful Biometrics. In & out only 20 mins.

04/03/2012 Received text and email of EAD card production.
