According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

since steven agrees, maybe he can tell us what he has against semi auto handguns?

I'm in favor of requiring registration and licensing. Semi-auto handguns, I have no problems with - provided the person is qualified to carry and use it safely. Gun safety laws protect the accidental deaths which are the main cause of death from the misuse of a firearm.

i guess crack dealers having a firefight, drive by shootings, and so on are way down on the list of misuse of a firearm?

also, weren't you one of those who was carrying on about the erosion of the constitution and here you are talking about doing the same thing with respect to the right to keep and bear arms?

Regulation is not 'hating' the second amendment. How did you survive in Australia? You must have stood out like a sore thumb.

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

regulation might just infringe upon that...........

kinda like them pesky voters laws back in america's history, remember those?

Charles, regulations of firearms is NOT an infringement of the Second Amendment - shall we get into a discussion over it's interpretation? What has the Supreme Court said? We currently have regulations regarding firearms. Accidental deaths by firearms are the number one leading cause of death - check the stats.

i'm more concerned about the criminals having firearms. aren't you? accidental deaths happen all the time. otherwise we'd wind up banning cars too.

Thank God they shot this clown in time..

This sort of ####### will continue to happen until we wake up and smell the coffee and restrict the ###### that comes out in the movies and in video games, which is polluting peoples brains.

Blaming guns is a joke. It would be like blaming roadside bombs rather than the brainwashing terrorists get from a delusional ideology..

Movies and video games? I don't think so..

This probably won't be up much longer, got it in a cache; but the shooter was a ticking time bomb, and clearly by reading his page on this vampire freak site, full of himself and waiting to live out this fantasy.

shooters personal page

There are thousands of kids with same interests that end up killing no one. This (like any other school shootings) is just an isolated incedent. The media will just hype this up for months. Automobiles kill many more people.

"isolated" Hm! i've heard that Quebec has the higher rate of suicidal of youngsters, in the world, specifically 20 to 40 yrs old men. And also that UNICEF was alerted by some strange conditions found in some kids centers, there also!!!!

people on probation aren't allowed to have guns. isn't their right being infringed upon?

that they are on probation means their rights were suspended due to something they did.......

So rights are not rights? They are called rights because they (supposedly) cannot be taken away.

Lots of "rights" are routinely taken away from certain classes of people. The right to vote for felons, for example.

Not saying I agree with it, but it's been like that for a long time. Rights are not unconditional.

A gun is far more likely to be used in a suicide, homicide, or unintentional shooting than to kill a criminal. Using federal government figures, for every time a citizen used a firearm in 1999 in a justifiable homicide, 185 lives were ended in firearm homicides, suicides, and unintentional shootings.

What do you want, Charles? No regulations, no registration or license required? Be specific.

all semantics..........

just because you have the right to do something - in this case i'll cite owning a firearm, provided you meet all the criteria for such - that right disappears upon conviction of a felony, also upon conviction of domestic spousal abuse ;)

keeping the law abiding citizen from owning a firearm does not decrease their risk from being shot by some thug who cares less about the law. i don't believe in registration of guns, or licensing of guns. but i do believe in very strong measures for those who use one to commit a crime.

that, my friend, is putting the blame where it belongs for the crime - on the back of the one committing it, rather than applying a blanket policy like the uk and australia....

Good luck with that... Supreme Court has yet to rule it unconstitutional so claiming it's an infringement on the Second Amendment is a fallacy.
