Progress. After waiting the 15 business days (3 weeks) as instructed I emailed a copy of the NOA2. NVC searched and located the petition package. So I don't know if the delay was USCIS or NVC. Now they are saying up to 4 weeks to scan the petition. Does anyone have feedback how long it usually takes? I here it's 4-5 days, but they give themselves plenty of time in their estimates. Any other tips for expediting NVC? We have all the paperwork together.

Dave - NVC kept telling me that they didn't have the I-130 package and to wait 15 days before submitting an inquiry. I waited and emailed the inquiry with a copy of the NOA2. The next day they said they received it. So I'm not sure if it took USCIS 3 weeks to mail it or if NVC is just backed up in opening and sorting the mail. I'm sure they receive hundreds of packages every day.

At this point the waiting for every step is getting tiring. But we are getting close to completing all the paper processing!

Best of luck.

Most of the complaints about the long wait for NVC receive have been from California - Virginia approvals don't seem to be having the same issues..

It is to my understanding that USCIS sends a bunch of the packages out at once, not individually. Which makes much more sense if there is a backlog cause of this.

NVC is tedious and faster than CIS. It's going to be more "on your toes" work than CIS was. Which adds more stress on...whoopeee! lol....

Best of luck to the of your immigration process as well...

*Vermont you mean.

It makes geographical sense too as Vermont is much closer to New Hampshire (Where NVC is located) than Cali.

Were you given any special instructions when mailing in the inquiry besides the "include the receipt number and the names/date of birth of the petitioner and beneficiary?" They started me down that road today until I reminded them I was not at 15 days yet.. I wish I had kept silent :)

ooh sorry! yeah Vermont.. You are correct about it being farther out but that should only be a day or two longer by mail and looking at the timelines database they are a couple of weeks different right now...

Thanks for the information.. I'm trying that route even though I am only at day #13 .. I am guessing they are going to just kick it back out to me but hope springs eternal :) I did get the auto-response which is more than I got from the email in the NOA2 document...
