Not for the purpose of hijacking this thread :no: personally I'm gonna submit 1040 for 2010 (joint return) and tax transcripts for 2008-2009. For i864 processing I will include and submit only 2010 and see if NVC sends me any RFEs. And will keep with me 2008 and 2009 transcripts (just in case if NVC needs it). When it comes to interview, my wife will bring with her either transcripts or 1040 forms for 2008-2010.

You can do that. That's fine.

Just a word of advice. Get the tax transcripts. It's what they want to see and you can pretty much ensure all the info they want is in those transcripts. You never know with a 1040 you copied yourself that a page is missing or it's incomplete info that they still want to see.
