It is not so easy to get someone willing to sponsor as most of the people I know would not do it. People she knows do not earn much too. But we are still seriously looking for someone to help.

Hi Everyone can someone help me with the process of Using assets to compliment the earnings of my spouse? We got the RFE to provide another sponsor who meets 125 of poverty guidelines. We want to use my assets abroad to cover the rest of the earnings, what forms do I need to file and does my wife need to file another Form I-864 again?

Do I need form I-864A? Considering I haven't filed any Taxes in the country what should I do and how do I go about this?

Assets abroad are not always counted, as it would be difficuylt for the US government to get a hold of them should it become necessary. You also must show that they can easily be liquidated within one year (so property often doesn't count). WhAt kind of assets do you have? Would you be able to liquidate them now and transfer the money to a joint US bank account?

You don't need a I-864A for your assets, they should have gone on the I-864, there's a section for it.

If your assets are forign based they have to make up 5 times the shortfall. Bur you can include interest as income, if it'd a significant deposit this might make all the difference
