NO, a photocopy will be fine. The beneficiary may be asked to show the original copy, not the petitioner.

The petitioner only needs to prove he/she is a US Citizen. That may of may not require a birth certifificate. A naturalization certificate and/or passport page would work just as well.

There's no way I would send my Original naturalization certificate to USCIS, consulate or my fiance for her interview so a copy better be just fine!

No! Don't send any original documentation unless specifically requested. I have never known the embassy/consulate to request anything from the petitioner other than affidavit of support with supporting documents.

In our case, my fiance didn't send any birth certificate but he sent his photocopies of passport pages to prove his US Citizenship.
