Hello all!

We received our NOA2 June 13th, and we called NVC twice already but they said they still don't have our case on their system. Now, I know I get easily panicky over nothing, but is it something common? 1775465294wan.gif

On NOA2 it said it was forwarded to NVC, but can it be that it was sent directly to the consulate instead? 1775465297wan.gif

Thank you guys. Blessings (F)

noa2 to next action was a little under 2 months, we had problems seeing on line also as I recall.

It's not consistent on how many days, weeks, months you will get your case number. My NOTICE DATE was May 27, 2011 and they just received it on JUNE 28, 2011. Until now, I'm still waiting for my case number. NVC rep told me to wait for 10-20 business day. I'm hoping I will get it later today, when i call. If not, will try again tomorrow or next week... Just keep calling!

Don't panic :) My case was a little strange as well. I personally never received anything from the NVC. We got our NOA2 on April 5th, then my lawyer got an email on April 14th saying that the NVC received an approved I-129F petition and that within a week it would be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where the interview will take place. The NVC did not require that anything be sent to them, just that it was basically going to touch at the NVC then sent straight to Naples. I then got an email from Naples on April 20th, saying they received our petition and they included a packet on what to do next.

I think that if I didn't have a lawyer, I probably wouldn't have even heard anything from the NVC at all. I think it just would have been sent straight to Naples.

Ours took 11 business days. Call them everyday to inquire, thats what we did. Usually they will tell you to wait 10-15 business days. I think you should give it more time, but if its nothing up to their estimated days given, you can scan the NOA2 hard copy and email it to NVC so they can look at your application on your behalf.

First of all thank you for your help. :)

Point is that I've always knew that K1 usually spend just a couple of days at NVC and it's something real quick, that's why I'm a bit worried. I think next time we'll e-mail them (after 15 business days) and include a copy of NOA2.

Can we call Dept of state to inquire about our case without a NVC number?

Firstly - the K1 doesn't usually take a couple of days. It really does vary case by case. Some get a 1-2 day turnaround, and others have to wait longer. It took 11 working days for our case to go from CSC to NVC, and I know that others have waited longer. I understand that you start to get a bit concerned - I know I did, but it did come through in the end.

Secondly - nope, I don't think you can contact the Dept of State without it. When I called, they asked me for my NVC number and, if none has been assigned, they won't be able to see the case in their system.

It will get to the NVC - it does take time though in some instances (and probably more than people hope having waited for the NOA2). Hang in there - you'll get your NVC number soon.
