Ning, one thing I was never sure of was are you supposed to send the police report with packet 3 or can you give it when you have your interview? I was not sure so I had Pui make a copy of police report and send with packet 3 and bring the original to the interview.

Things have changed since I went thru this & I havent checked on what you are refering to. We never got P 3 so we hand delivered the forms for the interview. I think they could submit the P 3 without the police report if there was an simple note that it would be turned in at the interview due to timing.

As far as U S medical it may be ok but would cost a lot more just to save one day.

As you know Andy nothing is for sure in BKK. We Thais just love the word " Sorry" !!

Ning, I know what you mean.

If she were to go back for the interview just make sure you have an extra day to do the medical. I suggest doing it in Bangkok. It is only a day you will need. When I went with Pui back in April it took about 4 hours.

Andy is correct here but I would add some info. You could fill out & send in the P 3 info now to begin the process of getting the interview date. The most recent case I know of took 30 to 60 days. If the date wasnt acceptable you could request a different date at a later time.

Her police report will take a couple of weeks to obtain. The medical is done in one day & she will get the paper work that day before she leaves.

Where do you have to go to get the police report? Any police station?

rpmanger, see this link. http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/police_certificate.pdf It usually takes a few weeks to get it and you have to pick it up. I have heard of people getting it faster and it being mailed to them  .

Ok, question..

Just got my NOA2 approval "sooner than expected", I sent out the I-129F in April... For some reason I was planning on it taking a lot longer seeing the processing times lately so I decided to have my Fiancee come stay with me in the U.S. again for the summer while we wait. She is here legally on a tourist Visa.

Now she isn't scheduled to go back home to her country until mid August.. Is there a deadline on getting this packet 3 returned to the embassy if she isn't even home for the next 6 weeks? Will they be trying to call her (because her phone won't work)? Or do they do everything by mail?

I can have her parents forward the packet to us here in the USA to fill out.. I know there's some things she will have to do in her country once she returns "police record" and such.. but not sure if it's ok to do the medical/immunization stuff in the USA while she is here???

thanks

Congratulations, some times the government surprises us and get it done quickly, others slow for no reason. You were lucky to get her here on a VISA.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.
