Hi VJ members!..For those who already have taken their medical exam or for those who might know, I was wondering regarding the vaccination process at St. Lukes. Are we allowed to get all those shots within that time so that I dont have to take those other vaccinations in the States. Is it safe to receive all the injections in one time?. I remember reading 1 blog here and the lady said she only got 1 injection. However, on the paperwork they required multiple vaccinations. Any input would be appreciated. God bless us all! :)

Before you get your vaccinations, they will have to interview you first about the vaccines you may need. Not everything in that list (I guess there are 27 in there) applies to the patient. In my case, I only had 2 shots. There are 3 vaccines in every shot so I got 6 vaccines.

See chart attached, but note that HPV is no longer required, even though the chart says it is. Depending on your age, you won't need every shot. My wife only got 2 shots at St. Luke's (MMR and Tdap). The only other one she would have needed would have been Varicella (chicken pox), but she told them she had chicken pox when she was young, so they took her word for it and wrote "Varicella history" on her paperwork. If you have records of your vaccines, I would bring them to be safe. The rest of them were not applicable for her age. You can check to see which ones you need by looking at the chart attached.Vaccination Chart.pdf

I have basically the same question, since I don't want her getting 20 shots all at once; I'm sure that can't be good. What if the fiancee has no written records? The doctor died, no way to go get the records. Would they take her word for it if she can figure out which ones were given, and then write them down on a piece of paper with approximate dates?

And, is hepatitis shot required? That's one of the more dangerous vaccines and unnecessary since she isn't a high risk to get it (does not have those behavioral problems that cause hep. nor does she have a job dealing with people who would have it).

i had 2 shots, MMR and Tdap... i got my Td shot here in the us to complete my vaccine record... you will notice in your DS3025 (vaccination documentation worksheet) that Tdap and Td are at the same box... you cannot have the Tdap and Td at the same time due to time interval issue...
