Well, tomorrow my wife and I start our journey. We are getting picked up by our driver at 5AM to head to the Jakarta Embassy. We are stopping halfway (Bandung), as we don't want our 6-month-old son to endure an 8-hour car ride all at once.

We have a 10:00 AM appointment on Monday, June 20 for my son's registration as a USC. We are going to get to the Embassy at 8:00 AM and drop off my wife's I-130 and other documents. The Embassy says they will "pend" her case until her 2 year HRR runs out on June 27, 2012, so we can avoid the whole Chicago lock box stuff that starts August 15.

Wish us luck and cross your fingers. I am so afraid that I did something incorrectly, but I have been researching this stuff for a year now lol. In emails with the embassy, they said that the paperwork I described to them for the I-130 is all correct and I should be good to go.

Has anyone here recently dealt with the Jakarta Embassy? Any tips? I hear they are actually a pretty decent and fair bunch, but I have a bad taste from dealing with Indonesia's messed up Immigration...

03/26/2010 - Got married

06/28/2010 - Left for Indonesia

06/29/2010 - Arrived in Jakarta, Indonesia and drove to Tasikmalaya

05/25/2011 - Set up an appointment for my sons registration of overseas birth for June 20th

05/28/2011 - Filled out and printed all documents needed (I think). Didn't sign any of them since some don't need signed until you are told to sign. Neatly organized them in folders.

06/05/2011 - The Embassy advised us that they will "pend" my wife's I-130, so we can file 1 year prior to departure to avoid mailing to Chicago.

06/20/2011 - Filed my wife's I-130 at the Consular in Jakarta (1 year pending from here).

04/09/2012 - Emailed embassy to start I-130 process.

04/10/2012 - Received email to collect documents for IV and call to schedule an interview

04/11/2012 - Scheduled medical exam for June 4, 2012

To be continued...
