How to get new passport after Approved Greencard

hi,

i need little help , i got detained by ICE IN 2004 for F1 VIOLATION, and they took my passport,SScard and i9-4 etc , my case was pending after that hearing after hearing, i was in removal proceddings and thn later i got married and finally now i got my Change of status approved through JUDGE, i already got my GREENCARD in mail ,Now I went to my pakistan embassy today to get new passport since old and expired passport was with immigration and i dont know what to do to get that back i went to my embassy and they said they cant give me new passport unless i get my old one back from ICE or get some letter from ICE ..what should i do now ??????

No idea. Have you tried contacting ICE?

People lose their passports all the time, and don't usually have any trouble getting a replacement. Apparently, ICE notified your embassy that you were in removal proceedings. It sounds like your embassy just wants some assurance that you won't end up being a deportation absconder.

yea thats what im thinking that they need some kind of confirmation from INS that im not in removal proceding anymore that weird tho , cause i already submit them and showed them my greencard socialsecurity and new valid driver lic.

but i guess pakistan embassy is worst when it comes to help thr overseas citizens

i ll call INS customer service tomorw morning
