I am still completely clueless as to where my AOS petition is. We sent it to Chicago, got the reciept that had MSC########### as the reciept number. What center is that excatly?

MSC is the Missouri Service Center (or sometimes called the NBC, National Benefits Center). Your applications are forwarded to MSC from Chicago. MSC processes EADs and APs, and after preliminary processing forwards your AOS application either to your local district office for interview, or to CSC for approval sans interview.

This helps I think, I am sending my I-130, AOS and EAD applications all at once to chicago, then I guess the go to Vermont and then possibly onto the local Boston office?

They'll got to the National Benefits Center AKA the Missouri Service Center. Then the I-130 and I-485 will be either transferred to your District Office after initial processing for final processing including interview or to the California Service Center for processing without interview.

EAD will be processed to completion at the NBC.

Nothing will go to Vermont.
