i need to fill out DS-230 for my Dad, (i'm a USC) he lives in Bolivia but visited US about 15 yrs ago using passport under a different name, he was also able to obtain a fake SS card, after a short period of time left USA (about 13 yrs ago) and never returned again, my question is what do i put on line 25 under visits to US?? , should i put that he visited on certain dates but what about Visa status? i was thinking not to put any entries or N/A , but i don't want to risk his chances to obtain an immigrant visa, just in case they find any type of records under his name. what do i do?

One should not lie on any forms because if found out, your father could face a life time ban. It is also wrong to try and circumvent the immigration process via lies and as such no-one on VJ will (nor should they) advise you otherwise. Your father should be honest on the DS-230 about the prior entry and let the chips fall where they may.

I wish you all the best.

I will echo the prior response,. In life we are forced to take responsibility for our actions. It is precisely what you are facing. Tell the truth. It is for this reason, people trying to circumvent the system for their own, that creates the endless stream of bureacratic nightmares for everyone else, the long waits for what most of us feel are unwarranted. Be honest, and pray it all works out. Good luck!

Paul,

You need to have a consultation with a US immigration attorney to review the details of your father's past dealings with the USA and how to best handle the present immigration effort as a result of what he did in the past.

You may be able to handle the immigration process on your own, but don't attempt it without getting proper legal advice first.
