I was wondering if anyone here who is or was applying for K-1 visa that is a Federal Employee or a Veteran have seen their timing improved?

I'm asking because Federal Employees are conducted an FBI background check before we can even get hired. So does USCIS runs it all over again or just check up previous Background Check and complete it with a background for the years we haven't been investigated??

Anyone?

Nope - same timing as everyone else. At the time of my filing last year, K1s were running a lot faster than currently. My timeline was virtually identical to everyone else who filed at the approximate same time. I believe they are required to run your background check whether you hold a current background check/security clearance or not.

I do feel fortunate though. I sent in my K1 package with VSC on January 27th 2010 and my fiancee and daughter arrived here in July. Today it takes longer than that to get a NOA2. Next year, who knows.

I'm a Veteran and didn't see any benefit of that. Active duty awaiting combat orders may be a different story.

Thanks anyway, I was just wondering... even I knew this could be a tiny possibility... we'll just have to wait :(
