Hey Guys...just had our first check caseh after we applied for k1 visa..i know i know long process...people seem so discouraging on the boards...lol anyways...mom to 2 kids a 5 yr old little girl and a 9 year old little boy...

The other day he tried to say milwaukee..and i almost peed myself laughing at him..hes very smart in school here in canada...but his US knowledge is obviously going to be behind...what does the average 4th grader and first grader need to know us history and geography wise? any books to teach them would be greatly appreciated...

Timeline

Your children will probably start behind and then quickly catch up. Do a google search for grade school US history. You can probably find lesson plans. I know how pronoucing things can be a bit iffy. My mid 40's hubby was telling me about his uncle being stuck in West Virgina and west sounded like wet and virgina like... well.. we still laugh about it.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
