Good Morning

I have a question once the case is approved what is the next step I was told there is a visa fee is that true I just need to know what the next step would be.

Thank You

The next step is wait for NVC to receive which could take a couple of days to a couple of weeks. People normally wait until they receive the NOA2 hardcopy to start calling NVC for your new case number. They will be able to tell you once your packet has left for the embassy and the visa specialist will be able to tell you when your interview is set for. I advise that you guys start gathering all needed paperwork for interview, look on the links under guides to find out what is needed and also look under your specific embassy.

Good luck!

Hello

What is a 1V? and thats $404.00?

I dont think the 1V apply to k1 visas. One your case is approved it will be forwarded to the NVC where will will stay for about two weeks unless you are selected for administrative processing which can take longer. Once your case leaves the NVC it will be sent to the Port Au Prince embassy and they will sent you packet 3 with intructions on how to do you medical which is currently 350 us dollars. Once you have all your documents together you will drop them off at Haiti Messajer, if all your documents are complete Haiti Messajer will forward them to the embassy where they will be further analyzed. Once the embassy accepts all your documents they will send you a letter with an interview date through Haiti Messajer and you will go from there.

As memile stated, packet 3 will give you the instructions on your next steps such as the medical and what papers need to be filled out. The forms that will need to be filled out are the DS-230 part I, DS-156, DS-156K but don't sign it, and the I-134 with supporting documentation. The beneficiary will also need a passport that expires no less than 6 months from the interview date, birth certificate, birth certificate of children if applicable, a certified court record if he has ever been convicted of a crime or other offense, if previously married the divorce or death certificate for each marriage, 3 passport photos, and the medical. You will need to receive packet 3 before he can get his medical done. It will also tell you were he can go for his medical. I believe it cost my fiance somewhere around $200 for his medical. This will vary depending on what all vaccinations are needed. The cost of the visa is $350 USD plus another $10 USD at the embassy if you are approved. I would definitely recommend emailing the embassy at papcons@state.gov after they have received your file from NVC. Put your NVC case number in the subject line and include both the petitioner and beneficiary names and birth dates in the email and ask them to email packet 3. If you do not email them it will take much longer to receive it since they actually send packet 3 to the petitioner. It took 6 weeks for me to receive it by mail. Once you have all of the needed paperwork together, your fiance will need to take it to Haiti Messager. They will not accept it if it is not complete. They will then give your fiance a date for him to go back to Haiti Messager to receive his interview date. It usually takes about 2 weeks from the time you submit everything to Haiti Messager until he can go back to get his interview date. You can possibly get his interview date sooner by calling NVC about one week after everything has been submitted to Haiti Messager, but your fiance will still need to go to Haiti Messager so he has the paperwork for the interview.

When I emailed the embassy I received an automatic response back right away and they sent me packet 3 the next day! Hopefully you'll get a quick response also. It seems like emailing is the way to go for the Haiti Embassy (at least that's what I found). They might not send you packet 3 right away since they may not have entered you into the system yet, but hopefully you will be able to get it sooner this way.

As far as I-134, this is what I sent:

-an employment letter

-a print-out that I got from my bank showing when my account was opened, current balance on my accounts, 60 day average balance, and 365 day average balance. It was signed by someone from the bank.

-my tax returns; the easiest way to do this is to request transcripts from the IRS (you can do it online and it's free) or you can make a copy of your 1040 and your W-2s or 1099.

This is somewhat :ot: but does relate to the next steps.

Are you planning to go down for the interview? It seems like people are approved much easier if their SO is at the interview although it's not necessarily a requirement. There is always the possibility though that they will make you go down for a dual interview if you don't go for the first one. In my case, I did not go down because of other commitments here that made it impossible. I wrote a letter and had it notarized explaining that I could not be there and why. I did not think about having my fiance submit it with the other paperwork that he took to Haiti Messager. The day of the interview the CO didn't even look at the letter and he was approved. I think we were approved easier though because we've known each other for over 10 years even although we've only been dating for 2 years. It also helped because I had made multiple trips down there over the last 2 years. I see that you've also known each other for a number of years also which should help. The CO was definitely interested in the pictures that we had so make sure you have some pictures together. I hadn't thought to get any pictures of me with his family, but it would definitely be a good idea to get some pictures of you with his family.

I had not graduated from college yet at the time of the interview and was not making enough money myself so my dad was a co-sponsor and we didn't have any issues with that. Hopefully it will be the same for you. As far as pictures, I actually did not have any pictures with any of his family members because I never thought about it and the CO didn't even mention anything about that. Just know that they will probably ask you at the interview if you have been intimate. As far as issuing visas it doesn't really seem to matter if you have been intimate or not, it's just one of those questions they ask.

Hey

Thanks again for the information you have helped out so much and if they do decide to ask if we have been intimate I'm gonna wave my 5 month belly in front of them Just kidding we have a son together he was born in Haiti I got stranded in Haiti during the Earthquake and had to give birth but everything is okay my son came home with me and now I'm pregnant again so that should help that were on our second child.

Thank You
