My wife has been here about a month and I am looking to see if any Filipina's are living in our area.

You could try the catholic churches in your area, or swing by the Asian food markets. But if you are from the area you have a better idea where the Asians are. You could google North Carolina Filipino groups as well. I wish I could help more, well maybe move to Hawaii, get plenty Filipinos here. I know my wife has relatives in South Carolina, which is kinda close.

Hi! We are in Moyock, NC... we are right on the border of NC and VA. Only about 30-40 mins from Norfolk/Va Beach area. I have lived in the area most of my life. There are lots of Filipinos in this area due to the US Navy bases! I think Greensboro is about 3 hours from here.

Thanks for the ideas! We do have a large Asian market that we go to every week. I have googled and found some groups that are based out of Raleigh which is about an hour and half away. We are going to one of their picnics in June. I think I just found a Filipino church in our area so we are going to go there this Sunday.

Hi! Thanks for responding. My wife is doing well and she is making friends but right now they are all my friends and I know that eventually she will need some of her own. I thought she could benefit from having friends in the area that are going through or have gone through the same thing. Especially while she waits to get a job and a driver's license. She is volunteering at my school which has been good for getting her out of the house.

I have heard that there is a good sized Filipino community in the High Point area.

What type of job will your wife be looking for? My fiancee is a teacher and will hopefully be able to find work in a private school.

Stay in touch for sure! I found a group for the Triad but it appears to not be very active over the last year. If I find anything solid I will let you know. When your fiancee gets hear let me know and we can touch base after she gets settled in.
