Can anyone tell me if I made a huge mistake. It seems when I submitted my I-130 to lockbox in Chicago I failed to put my wife's "date of first marriage" on the G325-A (biographic info). I have a receipt number and the package has been sent to California for review. Should I be prepared to submit another G325-A? Also, my wife's passport style photo was not exactly to the specifications (U.S.) will this also be a problem?

1) I'll let somebody more knowledgeable handle that one.

2) I can only tell you that in my case, I sent the wrong size photos (Philippine passport sizes) and they didn't care...unless the sizes are way out of whack, I suspect they usually let it slide. You will have to submit more photos during the NVC/Medical stage...just make sure those are the right size.

I wouldn't say it's a huge mistake... just a mistake. I don't know if this is the best way to handle it, but one thing you could do is prepare a new G-325A with the correct info on it, and then send it to the address for the California Service Center (on your NOA1). I would include a cover letter explaining that you realized you left off some information and are sending in a corrected G-325A. On the letter, I would list your receipt number, petitioner's and beneficiary's name and date of birth, and your contact details. You can also include a copy of your receipt from USCIS. Or, you could just wait and see if you get an RFE (request for evidence). It might also be something you can correct later in the process, but I'm not sure. Perhaps someone who has experienced this particular problem can give some insight (some people don't like to mess with the process unless they know for sure it could be a problem). Did you leave the whole marriage off the G-325A? Or just the date?

As for the photograph, I don't think USCIS is massively picky about that. I'm pretty sure my husband's weren't exactly US sized for either USCIS or NVC, and we have had no problems with that so far (even though he's going to his interview with two proper US-sized photos).

Good luck!

If this becomes a problem USCIS will send RFE. If you try to send the corrected info without the RFE letter your new info may never connect with the case.

The passport photo shouldnt be a problem. If it is a RFE will result.

You just need to call USCIS with your NOA1 Receipt number and give them the date of your wife's first marriage and they will note it to your file.

NOA 2 August 25, 2011

Thanks for the info...I am not so good with computers and am completely new to this "forum" communication. I can see this is going to be very useful in the future. My wife in Ukraine is even worse with computers than I, does anyone know if there are similar "forums" in Ukraine?

I just left date off, but did include the location where they were married.

I've actually had success with sending corrected info to a USCIS service center. My husband's address had changed, so I mailed a letter to inform them, including all relevant case info and a copy of our NOA1. Maybe it's a little different because it's a change to contact details or maybe I just got lucky, but I know it worked because the updated address was on all of our correspondence from NVC after our I-130 was approved. It might be worth a shot, and I don't think it can hurt (as long as you keep another signed G-325A from your wife to send in case they ask for another).

I just left date off, but did include the location where they were married.

It might likely result in an RFE then because it will be clear that you are missing information, but you could still just wait until you hear from USCIS. It may add some time to your process if you have to resolve an RFE.
