Searched the forum but was unable to find a direct answer. Have looked through LingChe NVC shortcut guide which was helpful, but I just want to make sure I understand what I read. So I received my NOA2... now I just call NVC to receive my case number and then wait again till they load my case info into their system?

Now for the harder question. My wife has a 3 year old daughter, recently looking back through my copy of the I-130 I sent in I noticed for some reason we never mentioned her on it. When is the time to do this? Will this cause an RFE or any other problems?

I appreciate the help.

maybe one with more experience in this will come along and help you but its my understanding that you were to file a I130 for the daughter also at the same time..so yes I think this will cause problems..each family member has to have own petition as I recall from other people who have children..

The 129-F was based upon your factual information and you have the NOA2. Congrates on that. It WAS APPROVED. Not being rude or harsh, but now you say I FORGOT TO MENTION there is a 3 year old I wish to Include. RFE.. No, I don't think so at this time. I think your past that stage. Now you have to tell them them the truth.

Just my thought. Other members can add what is best for you. ( I feel in my heart that USCIS will really scrutinize your case now and/or deny for false information ) But, I don't know. I don't know everything.. Good Luck

Lieing? The guy didnt lie to conceal the child. What good would that do? Write to USCIS? Who would you suggest he contact & why? The case will not be affected by the lack of this info.

I assume you want to know what to do to get the child a visa. If you want the child to immigrate you will have to petition for her just as you did for your wife. You can note that there is an approved petition for the mother that will result in a visa. Indicate the USCIS case number or send copy of NOA 2.

The last case I have experiance with took 4 months to get the required approvals for the child. That child traveled with the mother to the USA. Your decision now is to decide if you want to wait for the childs visa & bring her or send the mother back to get her.

You may want to begin looking into what has to be done to take the child out of Thailand. The rules have changed. The embassy now requires a document signed by the father. The embassy will issue a sample letter which should be used. They do not say that the letter must be translated into Thai & a copy in each language has to be signed.

I appreciate everyone's reply.

I (we) didn't intentionally lie... if that was the case why would I want to bring it up now? Our plan was to bring the child over after 2 years of my wife being here. (for a handful of reasons I won't list here)

Right now I am not looking to start another I-130 for the child as it would be too early to get her a visa. I am only asking about filling out the couple of lines on the mother's visa asking about any children. Since that didn't happen on the I-130, I know it would raise some eyebrows if on the DS-230 all of a sudden there is a child listed. Would it be best to call and try to speak to someone at NVC about this or just fill in the child's info on the DS-230 or just leave it blank again? (doesn't sound good to me)

Thanks again for the help.
