Hi guys. I received my NOA1 by text message and email in April,3. I have my case number from Vermont that starts with EACXXXXXX. My question is that I haven't receive the NOA1 hardcopy. Its been more than 40 days and I am still waiting. Is necessary to have the hardcopy (to present in the interview or for something important)? or I can just do OK knowing my case number without the hardcopy?

It's completely useless. You're not missing anything. It's the NOA2 that you need later.

Actually, its the Approval Notice you need later. NOA2 just means second notice. All notices, (receipt notices, RFE's and approval notices) are issued on form I-797C. Your approval notice could be your second or in my case third notice.

Don't worry USCIS does not even reissue NOA1...I never received mine either (NOA1 4.7) and when I called (twice) they said they don't reissue. The actual hardcopy is useless but for some reason I feel more secure having that than just having a case number sent by email/text (call me old-fashioned).

I agree. I received the email and text message, but it wasn't until I received the hard copy that I saw they had Aley's country of birth as Venezuela instead of Bolivia. Could this have caused a problem in the future? I don't know, but I am not taking any chances. I can't stand to be away from her any longer than is necessary. So my suggestion is to take 10-15 minutes out of your day and call USCIS to verify everything.

Angela, I like too the old fashion way and have a "real" copy of the notice. B-)

Braley, I neither don't know if an error in the name (as Typo) or incorrect country could cause future problems (probably it could).

But if the NOA1 hardcopy could not be reissued, what are my changes of calling USCIS? Just ask if the information they wrote is correct? What can I request? :help:
