We got a RFE for supporting tax documents. We sent the response and according to USPS it was delivered on 4-29-11 but the website has not been updated. After waiting for a update for a while i realized that i stupidly put a cover letter on top of the RFE letter when they specifically say to put the orginal RFE letter on top. I have read a lot of the posts about RFE's taking a while to receive and problems with the website not updating. However, i am concern that my RFE response will be lost in the mail room or something because i did not put the RFE letter on top. And the only way for me to confirm that they have received it is if they update the website. I called USCIS and they said it can take up to 60 days. I am trying to decide if i should just wait or should i send everything again with a copy of the RFE letter on top. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did you mae a copy also. ANd yes you were supposed to have sent original letter and keep a copy for you. Don't send anything again it only confuses the system. If they are not happy they will RFE you for that letter.

So my case status was finally updated to RFE Response Review yesterday. It says they received it on 5-2-11, it just took them all this time to update the website. We called USCIS a couple days ago and they said it didn't matter if the RFE letter was on top or not so we were going to give it until the end of the month before we resent anything. I am so glad that it is updated and I don't have to stress about it anymore. It actually only took two weeks from the time USPS said it was delivered. It was just a stressful two weeks, lol. I need to be more patient in this process. I hope this helps anyone that is having the same situation with a RFE, just give it time. And thanks to anyone that gave advice.
