Hello guys ,

I went through K1 process about 4 months ago , we did spend time living together for 2 weeks but unfortunately we had fights and thought that we were not ready to get married yet at that time , so I went back to my home country. And a few months later we both decided to get back together again.

So we are not sure what would be the best choice for our situation but in case we want to get married in my home country ,so we can do either K 3 or CR 1 then? what are the pros and cons of them ? All I know that K 3 is almost like K1 and CR 1 is very time consuming but it does worth in the end .

Please help us !!

Thanks a lot

Umm so are you married or not married then? if you are married the spouse of the immigrant needs to file 1-130 petition for alien relative. The CR-1 is the best way to go the k-3 was meant to be faster when the petition was taking loner, but nowadays it is taking just as fast. I was going to do the k3 but learned its just a waste of time and money so i am just sticking to the CR-1

duplicate posts have been removed from the K-1 forum and the K-3 forum. One duplicate with answers remains in the K-1 forum answering the K-1 issues so I am leaving this one in the CR-1 forum as it addresses CR-1 issues. It isn't necessary to post the same questions in more than one forum and I may end up merging these two remaining posts into one location for ease of response.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
