From the time you mailed off your I-751 packet, can you tell me how long it took for you to receive EITHER your biometrics appointment letter OR an RFE.

I am a March filer and have not received either of them.

what is the infopass necessary for? and When should I make an infopass appointment IF at all necessary.

thanks!

Sorry, I don't have good answer to your questions. However, I am in the same boat. I've been waiting for biometrics appointment letter since last week. What I've decided is, if I don't get appointment appointment letter today, I'll make an infopass appointment. If the biometrics appointment letter comes before infopass appointment then I can always cancel the infopass appointment so no harm.

Btw, I've noticed that infopass at Charlotte office are normally 10 to 14 days away from the day you try to make an appointment. So if you think you might be going there, I say book it today so at least a week or two from today, you'll have an appointment.

After 30 days (from NOA date)you can call the USCIS general information number and put in a service request for your appointment. The immigrant should call, not the USC. The appointment depends on the local ASC. Yours might be particularly busy. Houston and Dallas were slow for the January group.

I received our biometrics letter about 1 month after sending the I-751. Infopass appointment is not necessary at all unless you want to for some reason

my NOA receipt date is 03/09/2011, I called the 1-800 number to check the status on it.

Nothing noted on system yet, except for a service request for my address change a month ago.

I gave her the current mailing address and I have a new service request for biometrics letter to be sent to me.

I also booked online an infopass appointment, if the biometrics letter comes before my appointment I will cancel the appointment - earliest appointment I could get is May 10 at 8AM.

so I guess I'll just have to wait and see, but I can't help but PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!
