Those Who Expedited

I have seen that some of you have expedited your petition & NVC process...I sent I130 already. Is it too late to request expediting on our case? I am having a serious medical issue going on with one of my children that is affecting my job, my finances, my other 2 children...I really need my husband here to help ASAP and because we will likely have to go through the waiver process as well, any process we can speed up at this point is necessary. I don't know what constitutes an emergency in the eyes of the USCIS...any help is apreciated.

Thank you canadian-wife! I would think we meet the criteria of extreme emergent situation...I will have no problem getting atleast 6 hosp/medical professional letters from events that happened just in the past month. If we don't meet criteria I would be disgustingly shocked.

Be prepared to be shocked--this is one area where common sense isn't so common.

But having said that, I am constantly surprised that expedites seem to be confirmed where they are needed the most. Getting the I-130 expedited however is just the first step and if you need a waiver--particularly a 601 waiver, then the circumstances get much more serious. Once you are OK'd on the other site, very carefully spell out your situation leaving out nothing and you will get a quick and accurate response.

I agree, I have seen expedites get denied where I was shocked!

Not only will you have to prove your child's medical situation, but - the important part - is you'll have to show why your husband is NEEDED. Do not assume they will piece it together, put together a well organized expedit request

OK I will put a lot of thought into spelling everything out for them...I'm glad you mentioned the why he is NEEDED thing because one would assume its common sense that if a child is in crisis then wife would need husband when no other help is available. I have work to do...ty guys!

OH !!!!! You used those horrible words--common sense. Do not assume anything--you must show the negative impact on you--believe it or not your kids are secondary in the analysis. You will get lots of help in that context from the other web site. Most of the issues over there are due to immigration violations, and since you said you might have to do a waiver, I am reading between the lines that you may have some immigration issues as well, so think of the expedite as practice for the bigger issues--forgive me if I am incorrect in that assumption. Please let us know when you are registered with the other site and your user name so we can help out if possible.
