Hello,

On the site of my consulate it says I need to provide police certificates of all places I have lived at since age 16. I spent a year in the US as an exchange student, but as far as I know my official residence did not change. I was just wondering whether I need to get in touch with the police department of the place I stayed at when I was in the US or if it´s not required as it was not my official address.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Residence address does not matter. If you lived in a country for 6 months or more you need a police cert. As far as USA goes I don't know but I would guess the state department (NVC) already has that info in their systems so what Barbara said is most likely true that it is not needed. Call NVC if you want to be certain.

Hi, I've lived in several places in Canada since 1971. I have a RCMP Police Certificate, do I also need a police certificate from every town or city I have lived in?

I have tried finding the answer to this question but can't find a clear answer.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks! :D
