Get a CPA to E-file it for you. Unless I am misunderstanding, all you will need is to have it filed. Not have a return back. I filed for an extension on my business and only actually filed for the ITR a couple days before our AOS interview. I printed copies of the ITR and handed them to the interviewer at the interview. He accepted that just fine. I dont see why the copies wont work for you in your case. At the least, it will be getting them SOME kind of evidence. I would bring final ITR to your interview just in case.

I am unclear as to whether you have to receive something back from IRS before you can re-file. I have not been in this situation. But, I believe you have to fill out an entire new tax form. If this is the case, I would get it filled out now. Send the copies of it to respond to your RFE. Then take the copies of the IRS correspondence and the final ITR to your interview. Make sure it is a COMPLETE copy of your taxes. Our interviewer kept the entire form ALL 28 pages of it.

I had to get a letter from the guy who did our taxes to say that we filed and it was being processed. We sent a duplicate of the letter(He made two so it was more "official") as well as a copy of the tax write up and the w-2's for that year.
