What else do you have (recent paystubs, bank statement showing salary paid in, tax filings etc)? A contract alone is unlikely to be enough as it could be from years ago and the petitioner no longer employed there.

hello,

i only have my fiance's job contract instead of employer's letter, would that be sufficient when i go for my interview?

No.

Your fiance is self employed. The contract represents income to his BUSINESS, not to him. Your fiance then does his income tax and deducts expenses and costs of doing the work in that contract. For example when I have a construction contract for $1.8 million it in NO WAY represents that much money TO ME. That money is needed to pay for employees, materials, etc. A portion of that money is MY salary, but only a very small percent of it. Even if he is contract labor for an IT company for example, he deducts the cost of his vehicle, probably his home computer system, etc.

What he needs to provide you with, as a self employed person, is his most recent PERSONAL tax return showing his income. The contract serves as a form of showing where that income comes from. He should also provide bank statements or a bank letter to support his stated income.

Yes i have his 2008-2010 ITR and W2 , recent pay stubs and bank statement. he has a continuing contract and what i have now is his recent contract.

thanks for the respond.

In that case you should be OK provided his income tax return shows sufficient income.
