Sorry if this is not the right board to post this on (I'm never quite sure!)

My Fiance has a very high level of security clearance for his past job (this clearance is good for some time)...apparently this security clearance involved a very in-depth check - including looking into all police records - and was issued from the UK.

For some reason, he thinks if he brings proof of this clearance - it will suffice in place of a police certificate from the UK...it is a topic we discuss A LOT as I just want him to follow the rules and get a police certificate. I'm not fighting it too much right now as we just received our NOA1 - but, I want to be ready to persuade him if need be! Lol Do you think proof of this high level of security clearance is enough okay - or should he also get a police certificate?

I just don't want him to be denied at the interview b/c he did not have the police certificate...

Police certificate still required. Unfortunately, they don't care who you are!

My fiance's in the army and works alongside the Queen, and he still needed one.

This is a government agency you are dealing with here and not a human organization. People will have no idea what a security clearance is and their heads will explode just like the Martians in Mars Attacks if you confuse them with a security clearance and not a police check. You better do EXACTLY what the little pieces of paper say, otherwise they will not know what to do with it and will delay you more until you get the police check, just like the sheet of paper says.

Remember who and what you are dealing with here and forget common sense.
