As a jeans man all my life . I can only say dress for success ;-). .. I may not have a tie on but I do plan to dress for success . No jeans for me

Hi All,

Is jeans, formal top and close shoes will work fine on the embassy inteview. :)

You can wear whatever you want as long as it will make you look formal and descent.

And the most important is, wear whatever you are comfortable with.

Good Luck!

I'm planning to suit up in a tux!

Seriously, I'll be in my usual daily wear at the office. (a gabardine pair of trousers and a light colored long sleeve shirt with a matching tie.)

did you also do a Fred Astaire dance??? with the top hat and cane?? That must have been really hot to wear while waiting outside to go in.....

Seriously, pay respect to the embassy, it is a form of US government on foreign soil. "Sunday best" is always something safe. If you would wear it to church, or to a semi-formal event (such as valentine's). Then safe to wear there. Remember you are trying to show you are respectable, law-abiding, perfect "normal" citizen. This is the time to dress "sunday" average...not "saturday night rebellion".... (I call it the "monkey suit" fashion.)

However, this is the philippines, you are expected to dress in what is "comfortable" to you, within reason.

I didn't wait outside, I had my passport and I walked inside the Embassy, My fiance had to wait, I went inside and started checking things out, As an American Citizen you are allowed access to USEM 24/7, beside the guards are Filipinos and won't mess with an American, you just have to ignore them if they give you any jive.....

Pay Respect to the USEM, Are you crazy :bonk::bonk::bonk: . USEM and USCIS is a joke, we have to jump thru all these hoops and pay all this money to get our loved ones into the USA.

While all the Illegals, Estimated 21 million and mainly from Mexico invade the USA and are granted amnesty and citizenhip by breaking the law, Really a fouled up system we have in the US Immigration...............

hehe nothing is perfect. But the USEM has the RIGHT to say no to an applicant or withdrawal an approved application. Yes, many who come across hope for hte same thing which given by Reagan back in the 1980's. the only problem is today it is much more pronounced, and much more evident. Yes, I could probably bring my finace to Mexico and get her across the border at Tijana or somewhere...but then circumventing the rules is never an easy life when asking for mercy... many jusges and government personnel are not interested much in leniency unless you know someone which can affect their position of stature in their current economic status of life.
