Is there a formal letter on VJ that I can copy and send to my Senator. I have inquired them to help me, but they have asked me to include a formal letter along with the Privacy Act form. Is there anything speacil I should say. I am asking for there help, because its been just over six months that I have put in my I-129F form. I called and they said I can put in a service request in on April 5th. But I also want to get my Senators invovled.

Thanks for any replies :)

I don't know if there is a formal letter on the site to replicate, but after 6 months of waitng for my NOA2 I finally contacted my senator and one of his specialists on immigration said he would help me. In my experience, I filled out a release of information/privacy form online that the senator's office emailed to me. At the bottom of the form there was a space to write your comments and requests in what you wanted them to investigate for you at the USCIS. I don't know if different states require different things from their constituents for them to inquire on your behalf, but the process was very simple for me in Missouri. I had to fill out a few basic things about myself on the form, my NOA1 receipt number, my fiance's full name, birthdate and country of origin, what I wanted the senator (or his helper) to inquire about and then I printed the form, signed it and snail mailed it (I would have faxed but it was the weekend when I did the form and I don't have a fax). I heard from the senator's helper a few days later.. he told me to check the USCIS website that my 129F was already approved. Well, you can imagine my suprise. I had stopped checking daily cuz I was driving myself mad, and when I finally got someone involved.. lo and behold, the NOA2 was already posted there... geez. Anyway.. go for it and good luck.

ps.. he said that I wasn't the only person who had complained about the extreme wait for the fiance visa and that maybe with some senatorial help it might cause some changes at USCIS to speed things up. One can hope.

There was a post on here a couple days ago regarding a request for service inquiry. The OP stated she was told by VSC second tier they are currently working on applications received around September 11th. It should not be much longer for you. It appears from posts on this board ALL applications at VSC are running a bit longer right now. They should catch up to you soon and unfortunately they are unlikely to bump your petition ahead of applicants who petitioned before you did.

Good luck

Mate, the 11th of Sept is written on their script they are suppose to tell people, they told us that 3 weeks ago so i highly doubt theres that many 11th of Sept filers haha, i have seen recently people approved around the 20th-29th... we are the 23rd of Sept and still havent heard a thing, we just requested our senator to call up and congressman so hopefully they will speed things up, you just tell them your details and if they can see if they can hurry things up as things are taking so long and you cant afford to travel abroad all the time to see your partner.. well thats what we sort of said, US to Australia isnt cheap :P

Good luck

  • 2 months later...

Hey,

i just got my Sneator involved in my case today as well. Its been 5 months since i had my interview for my citizenship and im still waiting for the Oath letter to come in the mail. You dont need much in the letter. Just sate you name when you filed your aplication and how long you've been waiting. I did my letter at work and faxed to the office along with the privacy form. Now let's see how long it'll take for me to get a response. keep me updated. best of luck
