Hey guys I am new to this forum and my fiance and I are about to send in our I-129f in the next couple of weeks. I just had some general questions.

I have just gotten a new job that puts me over the poverty level, but I have been working there for only about a week now. By the time I need to send my fiance the I-134, which based on current precessing times is at least 5 months, will that be long enough time to show the consulate that I have the job and will be able to support her or do I need to find a co-sponsor?

Also when it is time for the interview will I be able to attend with her?

She lives in Brazil so we will be dealing with the consulate in Rio de Janeiro.

Thank You for your all your help. I sure there will be more questions to come.

You probably have more than 5 months: we are now looking at 6-7 months before NOA2s. Anyway, you should be fine, they are going to ask for your last 3 month pay stubs and also tax returns for the past 3 years. So if you are making above the poverty line at least 3 months prior to the interview time and you have been paying your taxes, you should be fine

Yes you should be fine especially if you have a letter from your employer stating the same and that you are working full time with no specific end date.

Being at the interview is a question for your Embassy. Email them and ask.

So we also will be going to Rio for our interview. I have seen from other posts that this consulate appears to let us into the interview. Either way, I am going to go and be with Mari for the interview just to support her emotionally. Also, once approved, we will be coming back together. There are mixed reviews about being there. Some say it doesn't matter, some says it makes a difference. As long as it makes a difference to Mari, that is all that matters to me. There is no way it can hurt us that is for sure. My personal opinion is that it is one more sign of a bonafide relation. This is a monumental process for us all and there is no way that I am going to make her go by herself. Thankfully, we have been saving and preparing for this trip all along. I can't wait to finally get on that airplane and have her by my side. Talk about a trip of a lifetime. We are waiting to get our interview date so that we can go ahead and make my travel arrangements to Sao Paulo and our flights to Rio for the interview.

Good luck in your process. Make sure to build your evidence along the way. It is always better to have more than enough evidence rather than too little in my humble opinion. Keep reading all the posts related to the K1 process as it has helped us tremendously. I feel better about being completely prepared as this process scares the  out of us as it comes down to one person's opinion at the very last as whether to approve us or not. So we wanted overwhelming evidence to make sure there were no questions regarding the viability of our relationship.

I hope the wait times get better for everyone behind us. It has not been good lately. We were over the 6 month mark before we got our NOA2.

Best of luck to you....

I emailed the consulate in Rio and they said that we can accompany our fiances to the visa interviews. Thought you would like to know. And I agree this process scares the *insert word here* out of me to.

Hope all is well,

Chase
